Will Naseem Shah feature in tri-series game against New Zealand tomorrow?
Pacer Naseem Shah suffered from a viral infection after arriving in New Zealand for the tri-series against Blackcaps and Bangladesh.
The 19-year-old made his T20 debut in the Asia Cup 2022 against the arch-rivals India, where he picked two important wickets for KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav.
After the Asia Cup, Naseem Shah was considered an important part of the Pakistan team as England were about to make their tour after 17 years. He only played the first T20I and rested in the other three.
After arriving in Lahore for the second leg of the series, Naseem was diagnosed with pneumonia and later turned out positive for COVID-19 which ruled him out of the series.
The right-arm pacer is yet to feature in the tri-series, where Pakistan registered two straight wins. The Men in Green defeated Bangladesh by 21 runs while bagging a comfortable six-wicket win over home side New Zealand.
Naseem has regained full fitness and will be available for selection in tomorrow’s game against New Zealand, however, it is highly expected that the team management will offer him further rest as they want him to be at hundred percent going into the T20 World Cup.
On the other hand, Hasnain is also towards full fitness after a viral infection. He participated in the training session today and said to be feeling much better. He is expected to be fit in the next few days.
