Proton Introduce Big Luxurious SUV in Malaysia at Honda Civic’s Price

Just after its media appearance in March and first test drive last month, Proton has finally launched the X90. The Malaysian automaker’s third crossover after the X70 and X50 is grounded on the Geely Okavango. The SUV will have four variants with six and seven-seat innards. The Standard, Executive, and Premium are seven-seaters with a 2-3-2 configuration and a bench middle row. The flagship variant is the only model with six seats and a 2-2-2 layout with two alternate-row captain chairpersons. The X90 competes with Mazda CX-8, Hyundai Santa Fe, and Kia Sorento. 

The 2023 Proton X90 has received a five-star rating from ASEAN NCAP. Under the latest 2021-2025 assessment protocol, cars are assessed based on four categories comprising adult occupant protection (AOP) with the full score of 40 points, while the child occupant protection (COP) category, safety assist (SA) and motorcyclist safety (MS) have a full score of 20 points each.

There are four variants of the X90 – Standard, Executive, Premium, and Flagship – and all four come with six airbags (front, side, curtain) plus basics such as ABS/EBD/BA and ESC. Also standard across the board are lane change assist (blind spot), rear cross-traffic alert (RCTA), door opening warning, and rear collision warning (RCW). The latter warns you when a car is approaching fast from behind while flashing the hazard lamps.

It has a 48V mild-mongrel system with six crucial factors belt- starter creator( BSG), DC-DC motor, lithium-ion battery, battery operation system, rehabilitation retardation system, and cold-blooded module control system. The 1.5 TGDI without the BSG had 176 HP and 255 Nm Nm of necklace, but with the mild-mongrel system, it has 188 hp and 300 Nm of necklace. The mild mongrel boosted powertrain improves standing launch acceleration by 10, passing acceleration by 15, and CO2 emigrations by 13 compared to the1.5- liter machine.

Proton’s seven- speed wet binary- clutch transmission powers the frontal bus of the X90. It comes with a rear camera, binary- zone air- exertion, roof- mounted air reflections on the alternate and third rows, and a G- Clean system with an N95 cabin sludge and ionizer.
