MG 3 will be less expensive than the Suzuki WagonR : Javed Afridi

MG Pakistan is planning to launch another MG Car in Pakistan dubbed MG3. Morris Garages (MG) Pakistan is likely to dominate the domestic hatchback market, as senior stakeholder Javed Afridi has teased the price of the automaker”s future MG 3. Afridi teased the outside of the hatchback in his most recent Facebook post. The teaser”s caption read, “Yes. MG3 less than Rs. 2 million “In the final stages.”

The MG 3 is a subcompact family hatchback that is expected to compete with the Suzuki Swift, KIA Rio, Toyota Vitz, and other compact automobiles on the market. The MG 3 has a standard eight-inch touch-sensitive entertainment system screen with Apple Carplay, Sat-Nav, rearview camera, a reverse camera with vibrant guidance, multi-media control system on the steering wheel, Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, AC with a dust and pollen filter, a four-speaker top quality sound system, and USB/AUX connectivity, to name a few features.

Originally a British marque which is now under the influence of SAIC of China, MG has so far introduced HS and ZS crossovers in Pakistan as CBU which have received good response from the public. The company has made huge claims regarding selling thousands of units of its cars in various cities of Pakistan. Ground breaking of MG’s plant was held earlier this year whereas the construction is expected to be completed in a year. According to information, the MG’s strategy for Pakistan is to flood the market with CBUs with an idea to capture the market before its able to begin with local production. “We are going to spoil car consumers with options” was confidently claimed by an MG official, and from the looks of it they are seriously eyeing to grab a bigger chunk of each segment.
