Lahore Qalandars changes plans over buying team in South Africa’s new T20 league
Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Lahore Qalandars have changed their plans over buying a team in Cricket South Africa’s new T20 league.
According to details, the reason behind the decision is that the schedule of the league is close to PSL 8. The first edition of the competition is expected to start in January.
On the other hand, an official of the CSA said that the announcement of the teams will be made by the end of this month. No base price but team allocation will be based on the bids’ financial evaluation.
Although there is no official confirmation, the word among the interested IPL teams in India is that the CSA will have six franchises, with two likely reserved for the local South African investors.
Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises Delhi Capitals, Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals League are also interested in buying teams.
It must be noted that yesterday South Africa also pulled out of the ODI series against Australia for the new T20 league.
It will affect their direct qualification for the 2023 World Cup as Australia would receive 30 points in the Super League.
