Google has announced a complimentary one-year AI Pro Plan for students in Pakistan.

According to a company press release, the initiative aims to assist students in “enhancing their learning, research, and creativity through advanced AI tools — at no cost”.

The Gemini AI Pro Plan provides these students with access to Google’s most advanced AI features. This includes the Gemini 2.5 Pro model, which offers enhanced access to its “most capable model” for functionalities such as Deep Research, aiding in assignments, research, and creative endeavors.

Gemini is also integrated into Google Apps, “bringing AI assistance directly into Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Meet, enabling students to summarise emails, create study presentations, and analyze data more effectively”. Additionally, students will have access to NotebookLM, Google’s personalized, AI-driven research and writing tool, along with increased limits on tools for generating videos from text or images, including Veo 3 in Gemini and Flow.

Moreover, the offer encompasses two terabytes of cloud storage across Google Drive, Gmail, and Photos, allowing for the secure storage of notes, projects, and other academic materials.

“This offer is part of Google’s larger mission to empower every student with the AI tools necessary to enhance their learning and unleash their creativity,” the press release stated, noting that the plan is now available in several countries within the Asia-Pacific region, including Pakistan.

It encouraged eligible university students to register for free access for up to a year.
