5G to be Launched in Pakistan by August 2024: IT Minister

Dr. Umar Saif, the Caretaker Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, has blazoned that Pakistan is gearing up for the launch of 5G services around July- August 2024. This advertisement came during the Pakistan Mobile Summit, where the minister revealed plans to auction a 300 MHz diapason for the 5G launch. still, Dr. Saif stressed the significance of bolstering the optical fiber network before the 5G rollout, pressing that only about 6,000 out of 56,000 mobile halls in the country are presently connected to optical fiber lines.

In a shot to boost the original mobile assiduity, the civil government has decided to grant a 3 exploration and Development( R&D) allowance to mobile manufacturers, effective from the coming financial time. Dr. Umar Saif mentioned that this allowance would gradationally increase from three to eight percent in the coming times, furnishing impulses for original manufacturers in their exploration and development conditioning.
