Lata Mangeshkar, also known as Bulbul Hind, moved to Amritsar in the Indian Punjab in 1952. His’s heart longed to meet Noor Jahan who lived 2 hours away in Lahore. Lata called Noor Jahan and after talking on the phone for an hour, the two decided to meet.
The emotional meeting of two great singers of the subcontinent on the border of Wagah tied the knot and the onlookers could not control their tears.
For Lata Mangeshkar, Noor Jahan specially cooked Briyani and brought the famous sweets of Lahore. Noor Jahan was accompanied by her husband and Lata with her two sisters Osha and Meena.
