‘Inevitable break up’: Twitter can’t get over Leonardo, 47, splitting from girlfriend Camila, 25
“Leonardo Dicaprio when his girlfriends reach 25 years of age,” a Twitter user captioned a clip of a woman throwing a baby into a fire.
Many other users, too, had some thoughts.
The Oscar-winning actor, 47, and the Never Goin’ Back starlet, 25, have kept their relationship largely private, despite being linked back in January 2018 when they were spotted out together in Aspen, Colorado. The pair made their official debut as a couple front row at the Oscars in February 2020. Reps for the stars have refused to comment.
In July 2019, an insider revealed that DiCaprio and Morrone appeared “pretty serious” regarding their relationship. “Camilla spends a lot of time at his house… [Camilla has] long been known as Leo’s girlfriend, and Leo introduced her to his parents long ago.”
Then, in June 2020, a source stated that the two loved being with each other and that they’d been hanging out “around the clock” amid the pandemic lockdown. The ex-couple was pictured spending time together for the 4th of July on a beach in Malibu earlier this summer. However, Morrone was said to have been in Saint-Tropez with her mother this month, whereas DiCaprio was spotted having dinner with his friends in Los Angeles last week.
In a December 2019 interview with the Los Angeles Times, Morrone opened up about her age gap with DiCaprio, saying at the time, “There are so many relationships in Hollywood — and in the history of the world — where people have large age gaps. I just think anyone should be able to date who they want to date.”
She also revealed that it was “frustrating” to be known primarily for her relationship with DiCaprio, adding, “I feel like there should always be an identity besides who you’re dating. … I understand the association, but I’m confident that will continue to slip away and be less of a conversation.”
Morrone is all set to star in the upcoming Prime Video limited series Daisy Jones & the Six, an adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reed’s 2019 best-seller, while Dicaprio will join director Martin Scorsese for a seventh time to bring David Grann’s 2017 book Killers of the Flower Moon to the big screen.
