Detail Review: London Nahi Jaunga

Humayun Saeed’s new Pakistani feature film, London Nahi Jaunga, stars the brilliant actor and producer Humayun Saeed. Kubra Khan, Mehwish Hayat, and Humayun Saeed are among the cast members. The film has been released worldwide and is doing well. Fans are adoring the movie’s avatars of their favourite actors. The stars are equally enthusiastic about their film. Directed by Nadeem Baig and written by Khalil ur Rehman Qamar, the film begins with a similar set up as Punjab Nahi Jaungi. Rural feudal landlord Jameel Qamar (Humayun Saeed) is trying to be a confirmed bachelor (we aren’t told why, maybe his heart broke once upon a time?) and avoiding an engagement with the perfectly beautiful and lovable Arzu (Kubra Khan). Enter Zara Tiwana (Mehwish Hayat) who turns the tables and Jameel Sahab has fallen head over taanga in love. What happens after is a juggernaut of emotions and simple but effective plot twists that keep you wanting to root for Jameel’s hapless love story.

Armed with powerful dialog and some relevant themes, London Nahi Jaunga is a family entertainer with the right amount of humor and important social messages thrown in. Set between rural Punjab and urban England, this Humayun Saeed, Mehwish Hayat and Kubra Khan starrer will steal your heart without you even realizing it.

‘London Nahi Jaunga’ boasts of a rich, engaging storyline and is generally a well-made film with reasonably competent performances by its cast. The real star of the film is its script, with a few memorable lines and situations that just may become a Pakistani pop-culture phenomenon. Watch LNJ not only for its entertainment value but to also appreciate its very important and applaud-worthy message.

Hamyun saeed( Chaudhary Jameel) is a beautiful and very loving person to Soha Ahmed (Chaudhary Kafeel. Jameel loves to do dog racing and poetry writing. but unfortunately in both fields, he is not very good, which somehow forms the climax of the film. The Qamar surname and TikTok-friendly poetry give the impression that Humayun plays if not Qamar, then the writer’s projection of himself on the big screen. “Muhabbat science hoti hai, Becharna art hota hai.” So grand. Wow. Tehzeeb Hafi has a new competetor in the field.

Chaudhry Jameel wants to marry someone from outside Pakistan but his family is forcing him to get engaged to his cousin Arzoo. As he is about to get engaged (reluctantly), enters Sara from London who not only scores high on the hotness and sexy scale but is also very mysterious. Jameel bhai loses all his senses and madly falls for Sara unaware of the deadly secret behind Sara which will make it impossible for him to marry her. How are Sara and Jameel connected, what dark secrets are their families hiding? To seek a solution and win Sara’s heart, Jameel ends up going to London.

The movie projects this message without making it preachy. Through interesting storytelling, London Nahi Jaunga will make you question societal perspectives that we are often conditioned to accept as norms and if they really give women equal rights. London Nahi Jaunga is an original Pakistani story, which, by default, makes for an interesting watch. You kind of know what will happen, but you are not sure how it will happen and you keep watching to find out.

Mehwish Hayat stands out in the film as the strong, beautiful, independent Sara. She is provocative at some places, at others, confused, trying to be indifferent, and then, mostly simply, a daughter consumed by a single-minded desire for revenge. She delivers dialogue with just the right mix of feeling and expression that evoke strong emotions as she confronts multiple characters in Sara’s life. Sohail Ahmed Sahib deserves special mention. He is not your typical dominating father figure. He is humorous and has a very endearing relationship with his son. Sohail sahib makes you smile throughout the movie with his performance and dialogues.

Kubra Khan as Arzoo has a sad, poetic aura about her and Kubra portrays that with a fine subtlety that actually tugs at your heart strings. Kubra looks beautiful and her depiction of Arzoo’s silent strength was a win-win moment throughout the movie. Gohar is a versatile actor and he delivers his character as Jameel’s sidekick with the right mix of humour, cheeky-smart comments, and a silly, nonserious attitude.
