Maya Ali awarded the ‘Pakistani Actress of the Year’ at DIAFA

Maya Ali is a Pakistani actress. She made her debut with a brief role in the telenovela Durr-e-Shehwar and later received praise for portraying the titular characters in Aik Nayee Cinderella and Aun Zara (2012). Ali got a breakthrough for her performance as Manahil Javed in Hum TV’s romance Mann Mayal. In 2018 she made her film debut with Teefa In Trouble.

Ali received critical acclaim for her role of Zuleikha in the romantic dramality Mera Naam Yousuf Hai (2015) and Faarah Wali Khan in the ensemble family drama Diyar-e-Dil (2015) these earned her the Lux Style Award for Best Television Actress. In 2019 she appeared in the romantic-comedy, Parey Hut Love which ranks among one of the highest-grossing Pakistani films and earned her two nominations at the Lux Style Awards. In 2021, she did her comeback on television after 5 years with ARY Digital’s romantic Pehli Si Muhabbat portraying Rakshi.

As per DIAFA official website this time award celebration is very different, even though this time numbers or famous and extra ordinory influencers from Arab countries  become part of this show. There are number of parametors which has been set by expert to choose the best one for this award. The DIAFA organisers formerly ran the Beirut International Awards Festival (BIAF), also regarded as one of the most prestigious events in the Middle East.

This year, the award show welcomes honourees from 18 countries, including the UAE’s host country France, Tanzania, Pakistan, India, Tunisia, Jordan, the Sultanate of Oman and Saudi Arabia. Mayssa Assaf, a popular celebrity stylist will also be in charge of the red carpet’s beauty station.
